In the Netherlands
In November 1999 a second silverhoard was found at Westerklief, less that a 100 yards from where the first one was hidden.
The material of this second hoard consists of 165 grams silver (bars and so called chopsilver), 20 Carolingian coins as well as 62 (fragments of) Arab coins. The incomplete Arab coind (36 in total) were chopped to pieces. The hoard was dated at 875, about 25 years after the first one.
Archaeologists assume that this hoard, just like the first one, was hidden only to be collected later.
