Archaeologists uncover the secrets of Kintore's past

Archaeologists working on the site of a new village school are learning new lessons about the history of an ancient Roman marching camp.
Work began earlier this year at Kintore, ahead of a development at Deer's Den, off Forest Road, and quickly brought to light remains dating back 6,000 years - ranging from bread ovens to a cremation urn.
Aberdeenshire Council principal archaeologist Ian Shepherd has been working with the Edinburgh-based AOC Archaeology Group.
