Team to halt a Malta wall problem

Team to halt a Malta wall problem
trefwoorden: Malta - muren - eeuwenoud - restauratie
A father-and-son team will today head off to a Mediterranean island to help restore some drystone walls.
Andrew Brown-Jackson (61) and his son, Matthew (28), of Etwall, are among a group of five volunteers who will be leaving for Malta today.
The island is criss-crossed with hundreds of miles of drystone walls. But the skill of building and maintaining the walls has all but fizzled out and there are only 12 people left in the country with the know-how.
The Etwall pair will be among a group of five volunteers who are to restore a section of ancient wall and attempt to get more people interested in drystone walling.
