Scientists believe a fossil which has recently been unearthed in Australia may be the oldest vertebrate ever found.
The fossil looks like an elongated tadpole and is believed to be at least 560 million years old.
It was unearthed in sandstone in South Australia's Flinders Rangers, the news.com quotes ABCRadio as reporting.
South Australia museum's palaeontologist Jim Gehling, said the vertebrate fossil was at least 30 million years older than one found in China and previously considered the oldest at 530 million years old.
