Iraqi museum conservators are to receive intensive training at the British Museum to help them restore their damaged objects
A report on emergency conservation needs at Baghdad’s National Museum has concluded that the damage caused by the war was “substantial”, primarily to ivory, stone and ceramic objects. The study by British Museum (BM) conservators Kenneth Uprichard and Birthe Christensen argues that the most urgent priority is to prevent further damage to ivories.
