India proposes to set up tourism office in Tel Aviv

India today proposed setting up a tourism promotion office in Tel Aviv and a joint working group to promote cultural and tourism cooperation between the two countries.
This was conveyed to Israeli Minister of Education, Culture and Sports Limor Livnet when she called on Tourism and Culture Minister Jagmohan here.
India and Israel could cooperate in the field of archaeology, art and culture, he said, adding the working group could have experts from related fields and chalk out the programme to pursue the activities jointly.
The Israeli minister expressed the keenness of her country to promote programmes of cultural exchange with India. She said both India and Israel have rich cultural heritage and could share their experience and expertise.
Admiring the literary works of some of the great Indian writers, she said Tagore's work would be published in Israel in local language.
