Archaeologists digging in Worcester city centre have discovered what is thought to be the remains of a Roman settlement.
A cobbled street and coins dating from the 4th Century, industrial slag and pieces of pottery are just some of the unearthed Roman treasures found at the former NCP car park in The Butts.
Developers Miller Homes, who are set to build apartments on the site, are sponsoring the University of Birmingham excavation.
Project manager Gary Coates, believes that the exciting finds, dating from the 2nd to the 4th centuries show that Worcester was definitely an industrial Roman settlement.
