Building works in preparation for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens have uncovered several archaeological discoveries dating back to the classical era.

"The construction of the Olympic site has speeded up the unearthing of very important archaeological sites," Yorgos Steinhauer, a director at the Greek Culture ministry, said.
