Buddhist treasures discovered

In one of the important archaeological discoveries in recent years, the Archaeologial Survey of India (ASI) has discovered a number of Buddhist treasures of significance.
The finds are from the Udayagiri monastery in Jajpur district.
The discoveries included a stupa, a 70-metre-long rock-built pathway and potteries of various shapes and forms. Archaeologists were of the view that these newly-discovered monuments dated back to 5th to 12th century AD when Buddhism spread in the region and had its glorious period.
