Ancient skeletons unearthed in housng developlment
trefwoorden: Gargrave - voor-middeleeuwen
Archaeologists working in Gargrave have unearthed two skeletons which could be older than Christianity itself.
The find, although not rare, has been classed as unusual and initial examinations suggest they could be pre-medieval or Anglian and even possibly members of the same family.
The human remains were found in the disused High Street Garage site after archeologists dug three test holes. They had been called in by Craven District Council after an application to build houses on the land was lodged with the planning department.
