A unique temple dating to the 10th century AD with Nagi sculpture as the presiding deity, has been discovered in Ghasiandhuti village under Balipatana block in Orissa's Khurda district.
The temple, popularly known as the Uttarayani temple by local villagers, has Khakhara type design and the villagers worship the deity as 'Uttarayani' little knowing that it was a Nagi image, unknown to historians and archaeologists of the State.
