Excavation in the ancient village of Duong Lam

Excavation in the ancient village of Duong Lam
Dai Doan Ket (Great Unity) newspaper reports on tripartite co-operation between Japanese consultants and the Culture and Information Department of the northern province of Ha Tay and the Peopleís Committee of Son Tay township to conduct an archaeological excavation in the ancient village of Duong Lam. This is part of the technical co-operation programme for the preservation and management of ancient architecture, signed by Vietnam and Japan. Following the excavation, the Japanese consultants will design a project preserve the area and submit to UNESCO a proposal for the recognition of Duong Lam as a world cultural heritage. Duong Lam now has hundreds of ancient houses and some of them were built 600 years ago. It has been classified as the most typical and exotic ancient village of Vietnam.
