The Fall Of Vetera

Vetera (Xanten) is the German counterpart of Batavodorum (Nijmegen): it housed Roman soldiers and was one of the garding cities on the Northern border of the Roman Empire. It played a crucial role in the revolt, as you can read on the next pages.

This part contains a description of the Siege of Vetera, the reaction of the Roman forces, the Gallic empire of the Trevirans and Lingones, the way Vetera eventually fell and the ending.
